Recently, a certain company has become popular on the web, providing us with some interesting information about new products from AMD. More specifically, it is the company AOOSTAR, a manufacturer of minicomputers. Of particular interest were their posts about the upcoming new Radeon RX 7650M XT mobile GPU, or better yet, about the supposed release date of the new AMD Ryzen Next-Gen processors based on the Zen 5 architecture. However, we are not sure here whether this will involve desktop or mobile processors. Inferring from the fact that the company AOOSTAR deals with minicomputer systems, we can set our thoughts more on mobile processors. It is likely that the entire leak is based around Strix Point APU processors.
When can we expect AMD Next-Gen processors?
According to AOOSTAR, the first AMD Ryzen Zen 5 processors may appear around August. I mentioned earlier that these will probably be processors aimed at mobile computers, but no worries. In terms of desktop PCs, motherboard manufacturers for AMD processors are also slowly preparing for desktop processors. Companies such as MSI, ASUS and Gigabyte are already releasing the first new versions of the AEGSA BIOS for the purpose of preparing for Zen 5. They have detected new designations such as Ryzen 9000, which we can observe in the image below. This is the first time that motherboard manufacturers have officially used such naming. This way we can be sure that we will be able to put the upcoming CPUs on the current AM5 boards. AMD Next-Gen Ryzen Zen 5 will be supported on current AM5 motherboards – X670, B650 and A620. So there is a chance that Zen 5 will also appear for desktops soon after the Strix point APU release, that is, later this year.
Ryzen Zen 5, and the upcoming Computex 2024
This year’s computex will be held June 4-7. AMD plans to hold its official conference the day before the start, which is June 3. It is likely that this is when we will get official information about new processors from the reds. In addition, they are sure to tip off about Strix Point mobile processors or solutions for the artificial intelligence gaining popularity. So we can see that the tension is rising, and motherboard manufacturers are preparing in full swing for the upcoming AMD launches. All this indicates that processors based on the Zen 5 architecture are close at hand.
