At first glance, this may seem to be the best way to check the temperature of the processor. After all, the manufacturer should know best how to approach the matter and be able to create tools that make it possible. In practice, however, in order to know the parameter we are interested in, we are most often forced to install full software, which contains a whole bunch of other, often unnecessary.
Of course, there is nothing stopping us from typing in the name of the manufacturer of the processor or motherboard and looking on its website for software that will enable what we need. Most often, such software will contain all the key information, such as the processor model, clocking, or the temperature and speed of the fans on the cooling.

If we only care about checking the temperature of the processor, then the best solution seems to be the application Core Temp. It contains basic information about the CPU model, clocking, voltage, motherboard socket, number of cores and threads, current power consumption, and the temperature of each core. CPU temperature, HWInfo program will provide all the information you need

A program that gives you much more options when it comes to monitoring temperatures and other computer parameters is HWInfo. Here you will find many more options, such as temperatures of all components, often from multiple sensors, information on each component individually, voltages, as well as settings for the processor, graphics card or memory.
To run the program, select the ,,Sensors-only” option, followed by the ,,Run” button.

After a while, a new window with a whole bunch of parameters will appear to our eyes. We are interested in the ,,CPU [#0]” tab, specifically the one that shows the temperatures. The line with the caption ,,Core Temperatures” indicates the current temperature of our CPU. On the right, you can read the minimum and then the maximum CPU temperature since the program was started.

When should you be concerned about processor temperature?

Unfortunately, there is no one good answer to this question. It all depends on the specific processor model, as well as the cooling and chassis you have. The most efficient I9 and R9 processors even cooled with efficient liquid cooling systems reach temperatures of 90-something degrees. This is a completely normal operating temperature for them.
