How to check Windows 10 and Windows 11 computer components without dismantling the case? Is it even possible to check it easily? It turns out that yes, and what’s more, there are many tools that will provide a lot of valuable information about the inside of our computer without our effort. Each of the applications discussed below is fully free and, above all, trivial to use.

Computer components – how to check in Windows 10 and Windows 11

The easiest way to check the components that are in your computer is to use the system’s built-in tools. In the search menu, just type the phrase device manager and select the first option.

After a while, a new window should appear, where it is possible to check the models of several of the most important components. Here you can, first of all, check the model of the graphics card and the processor. To do this, just click the arrow next to the word processor and graphics cards. It is worth noting here that, as in my case, two graphics cards may appear here. This is due to the fact that the processor has a built-in graphics chip, but it is not used on a daily basis. So in this case, the model of the graphics card that is in the computer is RTX 3060.

How to check the processor model?

In certain situations we need to find out a little more information about the processor we have. In this case, one of the best applications that will allow us to do so is CPU-Z. It’s a very simple tool that, as soon as we run it, will rearrange for us all the most important parameters of the CPU, including its exact model.

How to check the motherboard model?

CPU-Z has several additional tabs that contain information about other components in the computer. Clicking on the word Mainboard will show data about the motherboard. First of all, its model and the name of the chipset on which it is based.

How to check the model of RAM?

Moving on to the next tab labeled SPD, you will see information dedicated to operating memory. Here you can read the speed of the modules, their manufacturer, as well as the manufacturer of the memory bones themselves. In addition, there is information here about its capacity and serial number.

How to check the model of a graphics card?

Going further, i.e. going to the Graphics tab, we get data on the graphics card installed in the computer. There is much more information here than we had in the device manager. From the tab we will additionally find out who the manufacturer of the GPU model is, what TDP the card has, how much VRAM it has, as well as the bus bandwidth.

How to check the capacity of the disk?

Unfortunately, CPU-Z does not present disk information. So it will be necessary to use another application, which will allow us to do so. One of the most popular is CrystalDiskInfo. After running it, a whole bunch of information about the disks installed in the computer will appear. Starting with the code name of the models, through their capacity and operating time, and ending with the current temperature. Most of this data seems superfluous, but the application allows you to read what is most important – their capacity.

So, as you can see, in order to check the components of a computer, you do not need to install advanced software or disassemble the entire box in search of stickers with model names. There are many applications on the web that will give us all the information we need at the snap of a finger like a platter.
