Krux is a well-known brand of computer peripherals and components on the Polish market. They have made a name for themselves with their high price/quality ratio, and especially with their price. In today’s review I took the first wireless headphones in the offer of this manufacturer – Krux Clapz. Without further ado, I invite you to the text.
Introduction
The first contact with the Krux Clapz was a little déjà vu for me, I had seen it somewhere before. I wasn’t wrong, the design is very similar to the Logitech G435. Is that a bad thing? I don’t think so. As in the Swiss company’s product, here I’m dealing with a plastic very flexible headband, small, but all-around ear cups, and connectivity in two ways (and actually even 3, because Krux still allows cable operation). The whole thing seems a bit tacky and lightweight (although the latter may be an advantage for many), but hey, that was the purpose of it after all, and of course getting a low price, as this one is 199 zloty.
The making of Krux Clapz
As I wrote above, the design is a twin to the Logitech G435. So, both the headband and the shells are made of plastic, the quality is correct, and the fit of the components is not objectionable. Since the headband is plastic, can it be durable? This is the question many of you will probably ask. I hasten to answer, the headband is flexible. You can bend it and twist it, and it will not break (well, unless you do it on purpose). The headset is lightweight, you can not feel it on your head, so many hours of possession will not be a problem, in addition, the headband is upholstered with soft material. The same pads are upholstered, in addition, despite the small size they cover the entire ears and do not compress the head. Of course, soundproofing suffers, external noises are unfortunately audible.
The entire control panel and all connectors are located on the left handset, access is quite simple and the layout is convenient and easy to remember. Switching between bluetooth and 2.4 is done by quickly pressing the power button twice.
Sound and microphone
Sonically, it is correct at best. The sound is muffled with a pronounced blanket effect. Very much lower band, which even floods the others. The upper band is withdrawn, albeit audible, the midrange in residual amounts, basically imperceptible. Vocals, although relatively clear, are also affected here by the so-called blanket effect. Of course, the headphones will be fine for chatting or watching a movie, and it will not be a problem to understand the voice, but in the long run the flood of the lower band can be tiring. To sum up, the headphones are even flooded with bass. If someone is turned on by such characteristics then they should be satisfied. However, let’s face it, you can like the V, you can like the boosted bass, but everything within reason. Here the manufacturer has definitely exaggerated.
It’s not particularly better with the microphone. While it can be used for conversation, the quality of the collected sound cannot be said to be good. Sensitivity is at a low level, the whole thing is full of noise and micro distortion. Below is a sample.
