Microsoft Edge is gaining in popularity. Chrome continues to dominate.

A survey on the popularity of web browsers was conducted in April, and the biggest surprise is the increase in interest in the Microsoft Edge browser. Google Chrome, on the other hand, once again dominates its competitors without question. How are other solutions doing?

Microsoft Edge with improvements, but still not enough

In the latest ranking of the popularity of web browsers, Google Chrome with 65.94% once again showed which browser is the most popular. Internet users unanimously agree that it is the best in the world. It reminds competitors that they still have a great deal of work ahead of them if they want to climb to the top spot on the podium.
It’s safe to say that Edge has just taken a step in that direction. The data shows that Microsoft’s solution was installed on 12% of devices. This is an increase from the previous period of 0.12%. This may not seem like much, but it should be remembered that the increase occurred within a month.

Microsoft forcefully wants to take over the market

The Redmond-based company is making it clear that it has a snoot for much more and is investing heavily in advertising the Edge browser. Moreover, it is even forcing users to use its browser when trying to install Google Chrome.
Will this approach help increase the number of users? Probably yes, but it definitely won’t help build a good image. After all, how can you approach a tool that is pressed by force at every turn?

Other competitors + mobile devices

The podium of the most popular browsers is closed by Safari. Apple’s app holds 8.44% of the market and, interestingly, this is a drop of about 0.19%. Moreover, the browser is more popular than Firefox, which took 6.67% of the market.

As for mobile devices, however, here Chrome is also firmly in the lead with a market share of 65.68%. In second place is Safari with 23.75%. The entire stakes is closed by Samsung Internet with 4.33% of the market. As it turns out, Microsoft Edge doesn’t stand a chance here in any discussion with the biggest players. This is because it only took over 0.39%, which puts it far behind in the overall stakes.
