A future in which one’s smartphone can be worn on the wrist doesn’t seem so far away. Samsung has unveiled a wrist-worn smartwatch. This one is supposed to bend and wrap around the body turning into a smartwatch.
Device concepts of the future
Samsung has unveiled one concept for a gadget that may be a permanent fixture in its lineup in a few years. The manufacturer boasted that the device works as a wristband, a smartwatch, as well as a regular smartphone. It is expected to combine the functionalities of each.
The band unveiled by Samsung looks amazing and definitely impresses potential customers. The Cling Band is called a bendable phone with a flexible OLED screen at its heart. When the device is fully upright it looks like any other smartphone. It offers a thin body and a bezel-less screen. It also finds room for a camera, a USB-C connector, and a speaker.
When the phone is bent, this one forms a curved shape. A heart rate sensor is also located on the back, and as a result, you can expect support for a fitness monitor.
Will Samsung release a wrist-worn smartphone?
The flexible phone is a unique device that could revolutionize the phone market in the future. However, current prototypes have a number of drawbacks that completely disqualify it from appearing on the market in the coming years. It should be remembered that this is a conceptual prototype for the time being, and engineers are only just figuring out how to solve the many significant problems that this type of invention may face.
