It turns out that we are the only survivor of the crash, and we must do everything to survive and find the missing family. As it turns out over time, however, it will not be so easy, as the island is inhabited by aggressive cannibals and mutants.
Version 1.0 now available, what new things have the developers added to the game?
It’s been more than a year since the game was first released. During this time there have been a lot of updates, which have more or less changed the gameplay and storyline. In the final weeks before the release of the full version of the game, the developers decided not to release any more updates. They focused on introducing the ideas that were largely suggested by reviewers and ordinary players, so as to release a product that meets the expectations of players as much as possible. So what was introduced to the game on the day of its official release?
Disease system
So far in the game, eating rotten food, body parts of cannibals, or drinking dirty water, nothing special happened. This issue has drastically changed with the latest update. From now on, if we eat or drink something inappropriate, we will get poisoned. This limits your maximum health to some extent, and you have to wait long enough, or take medicine, to get back to full strength. This adds some realism to the game and makes it more difficult to access food.
Changes in transportation
The developers of the game have made long-distance travel on the island, which is exceptionally large, as enjoyable as possible. The hang glider is foldable from now on and can be stowed in a backpack. In addition, the mechanics of flying have been simplified, so no player should have much difficulty using this means of transportation. In addition, more golf carts and one-wheeled scooters have been added, which are additionally marked on the map if they are nearby. This change largely eliminates the problem of monotonous long-distance traversing of the forest.
Revised force system
Until now, by upgrading your strength level, the only advantage was a slight increase in health points. From now on, each additional level adds a 1% bonus to health, damage dealt and felling trees. In addition, the maximum level of this indicator has been increased from 50 to 100. This will certainly encourage players to pay more attention to this parameter, and thus more frequent trips to the forest in search of wood and raising it.
Nerf shotgun
There is no denying that the shotgun was one of the best weapons in the game. With the new update, the damage of this weapon has decreased significantly. In addition, ammunition cases stop renewing, and this means a compulsion to significantly reduce the use of this weapon. From now on, battles with mutants may become more challenging, as at many points there will be a shortage of ammunition to fight them with firearms.
Patrolling helicopters
From time to time, patrolling helicopters can be heard and observed in the sky. These circle around the player for some time and fly away to bases located in the mountains. They belong to a certain spy who has a close connection with the game’s plot.
Caves
The developers decided to add 14 new caves and cellars, which are just waiting for the player to explore them. Most of them are not very big, but useful items can be found in them, and in some of them schematics for building new objects. In addition, the existing caves have undergone some changes in their construction and appearance. The change will definitely appeal to those who place great emphasis on searching for hidden locations and looking under every stone.
Artifact
With the arrival of the full version of the game, a fully working artifact has been added. In order to assemble it, it is necessary to find all 7. its elements and complete the game. It has extraordinary properties. Using the plans found, it can be used to teleport to any place on the map. In addition, he can strengthen structures with Solofit, and he can repel and attract cannibals. The last two functions are well known to those who had the opportunity to complete the first game in the series, where the artifact had exactly these functions.
Voice chat
The developers have added the function of using voice chat during the game. Players can thus communicate with each other in multiplayer mode. This option greatly enhances realism, especially when considering that players must be close enough to each other to hear each other. Otherwise, it will be necessary to use walkie-talkies, as long as they have a sufficiently long range. In addition, depending on the location, our voice is slightly different, as it is in real life.

New designs
The release of Sons of the Forest brought the addition of several new schemes. First of all, many types of furniture, traps and an arrow rack have been added. The community has been waiting for this change for a very long time, and I wonder why the developers have only now decided to add this element to the gameplay.
